Road Tripping with Kids

Road tripping with kids can be one of two things: A total disaster or delightful family bonding time. As you take your Ram truck across the country this summer, we want to help you accomplish the latter. Though some problems are inevitable, many can be avoided with these simple tips:

1-Bring a spare key

The worst place to lose the key to your Ram truck is hundreds or thousands of miles away from your home in Colorado.  Pack a spare key in the pocket of your suitcase to avoid having to beg your mother-in-law to overnight you your spare.

2- Prepare your Truck

Before hitting the road, make sure there are no problems with your Ram truck. Important items to check are your tire pressure, headlights, brake lights, windshield wipers, transmission fluid, oil and antifreeze. If there are any issues, make sure you get them fixed before you leave Colorado.

3- Snack Responsibly

Sure, loading your kids with sugar is a good way to appease them when they’re screaming, but it’s only a temporary solution. Soon enough they’ll be back to fighting or complaining about a stomachache. To avoid this, pack healthy snacks such as crackers, veggies and cheese.

4-Pack Activities

Even kids will get bored of movies and video games after a while. To keep them busy in the backseat of your Ram truck, pack plenty of activities. Good activities to pack are coloring books, crossword puzzles and paper dolls.

5-Schedule Travel Time Wisely

If you have young children, the best time to travel is when they’re asleep in the back of your Ram truck. Plan the majority of your drive out of Colorado during their nap time and take a few breaks when they’re awake.
